One of the important aspects of political freedom is the right of freedom of speech and a great amount of freedom in society is dependent on it and it is natural that the external manifestation of freedom of thought reveals itself in form of speech. This writing is to investigate the right of freedom of speech in view of Holy Quran and by considering the conceptual framework in it, it has been emphasized on this point that talking about freedom without the right of freedom of speech is not basically meaningful and political freedom is meaningful when the individuals can easily express themselves. This issue is interpretable through some of the verses of Holy Quran that put emphasis on being attentive to others’ speech, following the best, fighting for the best, following firm proof, selecting the best, enjoining the good and forbidding the evil. Although this issue does not mean that the freedom is not of any border and limit but the consideration of others’ rights, religious and intellectual standards and following a fair law are regarded as its principles.
