The emergence of intellectual conceptions of religion alongside the traditional approaches is one of the basic features of religious thought in the years following 1320s (H). Claiming that traditional conceptions of religion are no longer efficient, these new conceptions have embarked on modern interpretations of religion on the basis of scientific and sociological teachings. This resulted in the appearance of new literature on religion.
